Closing Thoughts

The experiment is over.

You may have noticed a lack of updates, and that the total number of blogs is not 365. I failed to do a design every day this year, which is what I set out to do. This year has not been kind to me. I finished University and got a graphic design job not long after, which made the middle of the year a good time. My designs took a bit of a back seat while I was working and took a dip in quality as a result. I just didn't have the time to spend on them. Then, I lost my job, and shortly after ended up in hospital in a potentially life threatening state. It was a dark time, and when I got out I was scared. I lost all passion and didn't want to do anything. So I stopped, It was only a few days before the end of the year that I decided I wanted to make up for lost time, but by then it was too late. I did what I could but was not able to finish.

It isn't all negative though. I have produced some of my best pieces this year and learnt so much about creativity and software skills. Even if I am still not confident about my skills, I have had enough successes this year to feel good. Amoung the successes was the launch of my first T-Shirt for Whiskey Media, which sold 250 prints in the first couple of days. Working at Kineo was amazing. Having some of my designs featured around the internet was fun and talking to people who liked my designs has been interesting.

If you are reading this thank you for sticking with me through the year and checking out this blog. It has been an emotional year, with failures and successes.

Again, thank you.
